INTERMEDIATE CERTIFICATE

The Intermediate Certificate Course is comprised of 8 weekly sessions of 2-3 hours duration, dealing with all aspects of wine. From definitions and history, through the various types, styles and vinification methods of the different wine-producing areas of the world. Students are given an opportunity to taste and compare examples of the wines being studied. A brief overview of beers, spirits and liqueurs is included. The examination takes place during the 8th session.

Each class will cover a different wine region, taught by an experienced instructor with approximately 8 samples of wine native to that region. In the 8th week a written exam will be held and forwarded to the Wine and Spirit Education Trust for grading. A Certificate is issued for students who pass. Receipts for employers are issued upon request. The course is offered on a first come first serve basis.
