Jennifer Huether, Master Sommelier 2003


I first was introduced to wine years ago by a good friend (and Chef) Av Atikan. I started taking night courses at George Brown in wine appreciation and realized that this was something I wanted to pursue. I went on to gain my Sommelier Certification with ISG, but still felt I needed to learn more about wine, and decided (gladly now) to take the WSET Diploma.

It was a wonderful and intense time, but really gave me the solid foundation in which to grow my knowledge and tasting skills. It gave me the skill set to carry on and win the “CAPS Ontario Sommelier Completion in 2006”, and receive my Advance Level from the Court Of Master Sommeliers. I am now working on my Master Sommelier designate with the Master Court Of Sommeliers, and happily employed at Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment as the Head Sommelier in Toronto. I also have come to the revelation that learning more and becoming a better taster is a never ending pursuit!
