Chris is a Writer/Researcher with the LCBO’s Knowledge Resources Group. He was born and raised in the cottage-country town of Bracebridge, where he and his wife Janet have a home.

After graduating from Ryerson University in 1979, Chris worked as a freelance photographer specializing in food photography. In addition to assignments for Homemaker’s, Style at Home and LCBO’s Food & Drink magazine, Chris’ photography illustrated the best-selling cookbooks “Sugar” and “The ACE Bakery Cookbook.”

Chris developed a strong interest in wine while doing assignments for Food & Drink, and decided to pursue a new career path. Soon after joining the LCBO in 2002, Chris embarked on wine and spirits studies through the Independent Wine Education Guild, achieving the WSET Diploma in June 2007, and WSET Certified Educator in 2016.

For Chris, wine represents a convergence of art, culture, history and agriculture. A strong supporter of wine education, Chris is involved in many aspects of the LCBO’s communication activities, including educational and training materials for LCBO staff, scripts for LCBO-produced videos, and tasting notes for the LCBO’s extensive portfolio of products.
