A MESSAGE FROM IWEG'S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear students and prospective students,

I am delighted to share with you some exciting updates for the new school year, which starts this fall:
  • Increased collaboration with our current and new sponsors and trade partners, which will allow us to provide more scholarships and additional exclusive learning opportunities through unique Signature Series Master Classes, led by industry-renowned IWEG educators

  • Launch of new courses and programs - we are honoured to be the first wine, spirits and sake school in Canada to offer the Wines Of Chile Academy Ambassador certification. We are also introducing new distance learning offerings for WSET Level 1 Award in Wines and WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits and are very excited to launch the Spanish Wine Scholar study and certification program as soon as it becomes available

  • Greater frequency and formats of our courses to provide convenience and flexibility of study for our students, including in-class or online study, day or evening classes, and condensed or less intensive formats as well as custom corporate programming

  • Investment in WSET Diploma faculty and development of our WSET Diploma program - elevate the course to a world-class student experience directly impacting academic outcomes, as well as providing greater career opportunities through the launch of “Diploma Career Networking” evenings at the school
Our exceptional WSET Certified Educators and Wine Scholar Guild instructors will continue to provide our students with an unparalleled wine, spirits and sake learning experience, ensuring that everyone has their best chance of success.

As a not-for profit organization, passionate about education, IWEG is committed to our student-centered approach, which translates into higher pass rates and an exceptional learning experience across our course offerings.  This is why we offer scholarships, study-trips, winery and distillery tours, innovative new courses and Master Classes, flexible course formats, as well as proprietary study materials to help you succeed.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and trade partners who continue to support the school most generously. Many of the activities we undertake, particularly our scholarships, would not be possible without their patronage. The top performing students and deserving recipients of these scholarships will be notified during the summer months.

We will continue to be Canada's premier student-focused institution for wine, spirits and sake education.

I invite you to contact the IWEG team at admin@iweg.org or 416-534-2570 to find out how we can help you achieve your professional goals and personal aspirations in wine, spirits and sake education.

We look forward to seeing you in class!

Sincerely,

Paul Miles DipWSET

WSET LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA IN WINES AND SPIRITS 2018 - 2020

The WSET Level 4 Diploma qualification is considered by many in the global wine industry as the premium all round wine and spirit qualification. It is designed to give specialist knowledge of the principal wines and spirits of the world, combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.

At IWEG, the WSET Level 4 Diplomaqualification begins with a weekend in Niagara wine country learning about viticulture and vinification.

Students will attend presentations at Niagara College on viticulture and pest management by viticulture experts Dr. Wendy McFadden-Smith and Dr. Andrew Reynolds, and a presentation on wine making by the award winning grape grower and winemaker Sue-Ann Staff.

They will also tour vineyards and wine making and distillery facilities with vineyard and production staff at Arterra Wines Canada, Stratus Vineyards, Dillon's Small Batch Distillers, Henry of Pelham Estate Winery and Southbrook Vineyards.

As the leading organization in wine, spirits and sake education in Canada, IWEG has offered the WSET Level 4 Diploma since 1988.
