A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear IWEG alumni, students, instructors and sponsors,

For over forty years, IWEG has operated as a not-for-profit organization, passionate about helping our students achieve their personal or professional goals in wine, spirits and sake education.

We’ve trained thousands of trade professionals – including retail, hospitality, winery and agency staff – in critical product knowledge, which has helped them make a positive impact in the Ontario sector, as well as advance their roles as leaders within the Canadian and global drinks and hospitality industries.

IWEG has decided to embark on a charitable fundraising campaign to fund the school’s investment in a number of initiatives to enhance the student experience and solidify IWEG’s position as the Canada’s oldest and most established wine, spirits and sake school.

These charitable donations will fund much needed one-time investments to ensure the delivery of a world-class student experience, renovating existing assets such as the school’s’ campus and our website. We invite you to make a charitable donation to IWEG and contribute to building a lasting legacy at IWEG for future generations of students.

For a confidential conversation on how you would like to make a personalized gift to IWEG, including over a period of time, please contact me at director@iweg.org to arrange a meeting.

IWEG is a Canadian Registered Charity with Business Number 10808 4682 RR0001. Charitable tax receipts can be issued upon request for donations of $50 or more.

Sincerely,

Paul Miles DipWSET
Executive Director

WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits
The WSET Level 4 Diploma qualification is considered by many in the global wine industry as the premium all round wine and spirit qualification. It is designed to give specialist knowledge of the principal wines and spirits of the world, combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.

Diploma Level graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to underpin the job requirements in buying and merchandising roles such as Category Manager, Product Manager and Product Consultant, in hospitality and service roles such as Beverage Director, Wine Consultant and Hospitality Manager, and in sales and marketing roles such as a Regional Manager, District Manager and Brand Manager.

The Diploma is viewed universally as the stepping-stone to the Master of Wine program.

Why IWEG?
As the leading organization in wine, spirits and sake education in Canada, IWEG has offered the WSET Level 4 Diploma since 1988.

Our 166 Diploma Graduates over the years have gone on to become vital members of the wine and spirits industry in Canada and worldwide. IWEG holds the record for largest amount of Diploma graduates in Canada!

Distance Learning
The WSET Level 4 Diploma Distance Learning is a two-year programme through the WSET Global Online Campus, which begins the first week of August 2018 and runs through to June 2020.

A strong online programme, with weekly assignments and student forums, which will assist in your studies and provide engaging opportunities for feedback, complements this intensive self-study qualification.

The WSET offers a feedback program whereby students are able to take mock tests based on the Diploma examinations and receive feedback on performance. This helps students understand and reach the standard required for the Diploma qualification assessment.

IWEG also compliments the course with a Key Skills Workshop Weekend in Toronto in October 2018 to provide students with the valuable experience of in class instruction.
