Learn about sake from a sake master

Michael Tremblay, Sake Samurai

"Michael Tremblay never dreamed that he’d become a “sake samurai” when he started working at Ki Modern Japanese + Bar in Toronto 13 years ago. It isn’t a job title the restaurant made up. Nor is it an honour that Tremblay applied for; rather, it’s bestowed by the Junior Council of the Japan Sake Brewers Association on a handful of people—both Japanese and non-Japanese—from around the world each year." Read more about what i takes to win the highest sake honour.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines Instructor Profile

Kim Berdusco's journey into wines started when she lived in the United Kingdom for 18 years. While working in the trading room for a large banking organization, Kim started taking WSET courses at the head office in London, UK. Once immersed in wine studies, she never looked back!  She completed the Diploma with WSET in 2011. After returning to Canada in 2012, she became a Certified Sommelier by both the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers. She is a certified educator with WSET and is a director on the Board of the Toronto Winetasters Society.  She does private tastings and events and is the wine representative for the Toronto Newcomers Club.
